Where you stand at the baseline in doubles obviously will differ immensely compared to singles. In today’s lesson, Brady demonstrates where to stand at the baseline in a typical doubles rally.

So if you’re playing the deuce side straddling the single sign, are you also serving from that position? If you are that seems to be setting you up for having to hit more back hands from the baseline.

I play add. What about the lobbying players. Whose see you far in the left and lob over your partner?
    Best place to stand?

That’s not a play that generally works at higher levels. Too much risk hitting long or your partner hitting an overhead put-away. Lobbing is typically only a good option with both players at the net. However if this is an issue, you can both “cheat” a bit on your positioning to cover the lob.

I’m a lefty. What would you recommend for who plays what side?

Play the side that you’re most comfortable on, but all things being equal, I actually like the lefty to play the ad side.
