Hi Brady, I really enjoy your instructional videos and instruction but I guess maybe I’m too old school. I’ve been using a Continental grip for over 60 years and I find that grip to work just fine for low volleys. Yes, you do have to watch the ball and use your legs to lower your body to hit. If you just drop the racket and hit a volley with that grip, you will definitely put the ball up in the air. But, I find, if I’m hitting a low ball in no-man’s land, I’d be better off hitting a half-volley, using the Continental grip – that keeps the ball low and also gives time to your opponent, so they may perhaps over anticipate the return and be out of position.
