Having good control on a volley may be more important than any other aspect of the stroke. In today’s lesson, Brady demonstrates how he controls his volleys in order to keep his opponents on the ropes.

THANKS! PLAY WITH GUYS WHO HIT THE BALL A TON AND KEEP IT JUST OVER THE NET. SHOULD I ADJUST MY DISTANCE TO THE NET AND HIT MORE OF A SHORT PUNCH?

Another fantastic video – huge thanks! I had heard about the length of the swing relative to the speed of the ball but had never seen that demonstrated in such a clear way! New idea too for me to think in terms of where on the ball to aim for high and low volleys. Very interesting to think of the aim as a top priority instead of pace. When do you add spin to your volley with a bit of a tiny downward hammer motion?
