In doubles each player has certain responsibilities in every point they play. In today’s lesson, Brady demonstrates the 3 main jobs of the returner position.

    Priority # 0 is to get the ball back over the net and into the court. Sometimes the best chance of that is to hit at extremes of the net opponent’s range

    In senior doubles at 3.5 level the shorter angled return can be quite effective given server’s restricted mobility

    Who covers the lob? My experience has been if my team can’t win the point in three shots. The fourth shot will be a lob.

      That’s a whole lesson in itself. The short answer is a) the net player if they can hit an overhead, then b) their partner via switching.
