I wind up staying back because I am caught backing up my net player who gets lobbed or passed and we lose the point if I am not in the back court playing safety

Here’s a problem for me as a 3.5 – 4 doubles player. I watch my shots and move when they’re returned. If I get a good serve in, I’m so busy admiring it that I forget that it’s being returned and then I’m caught flatfooted. Same on grounds strokes. Love to watch that down the line to see if it’s good and then lose the point when I get passed on the return. I realize that this isn’t just a doubles player problem because singles club players are probably guilty of doing the same thing. Is this just me or do others find they’re doing this as well.
