The ‘directionals’ are most commonly applied to groundstrokes, however you can also use them on your volley as well. In today’s lesson, Brady demonstrates how he utilizes the directionals on his volley in doubles.

    I apologize for my (perhaps) confusing comment
    In the video, your court position appears to be fairly deep in the service box, which prompts me to guess that, in a classic staggered formation, you were either serving or returning serve.
    When the crosscourt ball comes towards your backhand, the contact point maybe below net level, hence a deep crosscourt volley seems safer

    Perhaps you could have specified that you were the net player and that your partner was returning serve
